Corporate
Governance Statement:
The
membership of the Townsville Independence Program
for Adult Community Living (TIPACL) Incorporated elects
a Board of Management to whom they are accountable.
The Board is responsible for establishing and maintaining
the strategic direction of the organisation, approving
budgets and expenditure and compliance to legislation
and guidelines relevant to the Queensland Disability
Service Standards.
The
Board’s activities are conducted in accordance
with the organisation’s Rules of Incorporation
Association and relevant legislation. All members
of the Board act in a voluntary capacity. The foremost
activities of the organisation are the delivery of
high quality services to people with disability and
ensuring focus is maintained in the TIPACL Mission
Statement.
TIPACL’s
operational processes will comply with all relevant
State and Commonwealth legislation. In working towards
its goals under this statement, TIPACL is committed
to acting conscientiously and in keeping with its
own polices and existing legislation related to disability.
These include:
Delivery
of services will take into account the dynamics of
human and legal rights, personal aspirations with
the flexibility to tailor/adjust services to meet
individual needs. Service delivery emphasis will be
on participation and choice and this will be achieved
by active communication and partnerships between client/families,
support workers, management and administration team
and the Board of Management.
The
purpose of governance is to ensure practices contributing
to the well being of the people receiving and delivering
services are implemented, monitored and evaluated.
A key indicator of success is when people feel happy,
valued and needed as citizens.
